💡 Delegates staying at any of the above hotels can reach One Farrer Hotel easily on foot or via 1–2 stops on the MRT North East Line (Farrer Park Station, NE8). We recommend booking early as May is a busy travel period in Singapore.
Singapore is one of the world's most visitor-friendly cities for public transport.
Here's everything you need to know:
The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit)
The MRT is your best friend in Singapore — clean, air-conditioned, punctual and affordable. One Farrer Hotel sits directly above Farrer Park MRT Station on the North East Line (Purple Line, NE8), making it incredibly convenient from all parts of the city.
Key connections from Farrer Park:
• Dhoby Ghaut (NE6) — interchange to Circle and North South Lines, near Orchard Road
• Little India (NE7) — one stop away, vibrant food and shopping
• Outram Park (NE3) — interchange to East West Line
• HarbourFront (NE1) — gateway to Sentosa Island
Trains run from approximately 5:30am to midnight daily.
Getting an EZ-Link Card or Singapore Tourist Pass
Upon arrival, pick up an EZ-Link card (available at all MRT stations and 7-Eleven stores) to tap in and out of MRT trains and buses. Alternatively, the Singapore Tourist Pass offers unlimited rides for 1, 2 or 3 days — great value if you plan to explore.
Contactless credit/debit cards are also accepted on all MRT gates and buses.
From the Airport (Changi Airport)
Changi Airport is connected directly to the MRT network via the East West Line (Green Line). To reach Farrer Park, take the East West Line to Outram Park, then switch to the North East Line towards Punggol and alight at Farrer Park (NE8). The total journey takes approximately 45–55 minutes and costs around SGD $2.50.
Alternatively, taxis and ride-hailing apps are readily available from Changi Airport. A taxi to the Farrer Park area typically costs SGD $20–$30 depending on time of day.
Taxis & Grab
Grab (the Southeast Asian equivalent of Uber) is widely used and highly recommended. Download the app before you arrive. Book directly from the app for transparent pricing with no surprises. Taxi stands are also available at all major hotels and shopping malls.
Buses
Singapore's bus network is extensive and affordable, though for most delegates the MRT will be more straightforward. Bus routes and real-time arrival information are available on the SG BusMapper app or Google Maps.
Getting Around on Foot
The Farrer Park / Little India neighbourhood is very walkable. City Square Mall, plenty of hawker centres, restaurants and convenience stores are all within easy walking distance of the convention venue.
Useful Apps to Download
• Grab — ride-hailing and food delivery
• Google Maps — fully up to date with Singapore MRT, bus routes and walking directions
• MyTransport.SG — official LTA app for real-time bus and MRT updates
• Klook / GetYourGuide — for booking day tours and attractions
Weather
May in Singapore is warm and humid, with temperatures typically between 27°C–33°C. Afternoon rain showers are common — pack a light foldable umbrella. The convention venue and all nearby hotels are fully air-conditioned.
